Toho Gas’ participation in Vietnam gas business

Toho Gas Co., Ltd. (Japan) has been joining Vietnam gas business through strategic investment cooperation by acquiring 40 per cent of shares of Phuc Sang Minh Trade Engineering Services JSC (PSE), a local enterprise operating in gas equipment trading, system construction, and installation business.

PSE has 16 year experiences in gas equipment and natural gas trading and is the owner of Phuc Sang Minh Gas Engineering Co., Ltd. (JPS), which specialises in gas system construction, design, installation for industrial zones, building commercial centres, and gas distribution projects in Vietnam, and is one of the private companies owning the biggest market share in compressed natural gas (CNG) in Vietnam, based on 2021 figures.

By acquiring PSE’s share, Toho Gas aims to expand and develop its gas business in Vietnam, contributing to driving down CO2 emissions with its experience from Japan.

According to Toho Gas’s evaluation, Vietnam’s economy has been developing and recovering strongly after pandemic, and many industrial zones are attracting foreign investment wave to Vietnam that leads the gas market expanding widely and gas industry being so attractive in Vietnam

Besides this, leveraging the Vietnamese government’s target to strongly reduce greenhouse gas emissions as committed at COP26, Toho Gas confidently evaluates that the clean gas market (CNG/LNG) will have enormous opportunities to develop.

By acquiring PSE’s share, Toho Gas aims to expand and develop its gas business in Vietnam, contributing to driving down CO2 emissions with its experience from Japan.

Toho Gas is one of three biggest gas companies in Japan, with its main business being retail sales of natural gas. The company has its head office at Nagoya city, Aichi prefecture, Japan. Toho Gas celebrates its 100th foundation anniversary this year.
